Ratio Crop crops the photos you choose, right inside your browser. We do not receive, copy, store or look at your photos. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your photos to train AI.
Who we are
Ratio Crop is a Chrome extension made by Caecilians Technologies Pvt Ltd, based in Hyderabad, India. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Caecilians Technologies Pvt Ltd. Our website is caecilians.com.
What Ratio Crop does
You pick photos from your Google Photos library (or from your computer), crop them to the shape you want, and then save the cropped copies back to Google Photos or download them as a ZIP file.
What the extension can access
Ratio Crop asks Google for two permissions. It asks only when you click the button that needs it.
| Permission | What it lets Ratio Crop do | When it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Google Photos Picker (read-only) | See and download only the photos you select in Google's own picker window. It cannot browse the rest of your library. | When you click "Pick from Google Photos" |
| Add to Google Photos (upload only) | Upload the cropped copies as new photos and create albums for them. It cannot read, change or delete your existing photos or albums. | When you click "Save to Google Photos" |
Ratio Crop does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, location or any other Google account details.
How your photos are handled
- Everything happens on your device. The photos you choose are downloaded into your browser, cropped there, and held in memory only while the tool is open.
- Saving to Google Photos goes straight from your browser to Google. The cropped photos do not pass through any server of ours.
- We have no server that receives your photos. Ratio Crop does not send photos, file names or any usage data to us.
- Your originals are never changed or deleted. Cropped photos are saved as new copies. If you want to remove the old photos, you do that yourself in Google Photos.
- Ratio Crop copies the original date of each photo into the cropped copy, so it appears in the right place on your Google Photos timeline.
What is stored in your browser
Ratio Crop keeps one small item in your browser's local storage: the names and Google IDs of the albums it created for you. This lets it add to the same album next time instead of making a duplicate. It stays on your computer. You can clear it by removing the extension or clearing the extension's site data in Chrome.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, store, sell, rent or share your photos or Google data.
- We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or credit decisions.
- We do not use your photos or Google data to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models.
- We do not allow people to read your photos, except where you ask us for support and give permission, or where the law requires it.
- We do not transfer your data to anyone else.
Ratio Crop's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Ratio Crop's use of data also follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your control
- Take back access: go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, choose Ratio Crop and click "Remove access". This can be done at any time.
- Remove the extension: right-click the Ratio Crop icon in Chrome and choose "Remove from Chrome". This also deletes the album list stored in your browser.
- Delete saved photos or albums: open Google Photos and delete them there. They are your photos in your account.
Security
Your photos are processed in your own browser, and the connection to Google Photos is encrypted (HTTPS). Because we never receive your photos, we have nothing of yours to lose in a breach on our side.
Children
Ratio Crop is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this changes
If we add features that need more information, such as user accounts or payments, we will update this policy and the date at the top before we collect anything new. If a change affects how we use Google data, we will ask for your permission again.
